Public Discussions of the Karelian Law Enforcement Practice of the Department of Federal Anti-Monopoly Service of Russia

On 21 December, 2017 the Karelian branch of RANEPA held public discussions of the enforcement of antitrust, advertising law and procurement law within the period of nine months of 2017.  The discussions were held under the chairmanship of Mr Pryakhin, head of regional Department of Federal Anti-Monopoly Service.

In his opening remarks, Mr Pryakhin, head of regional Department of Federal Anti-Monopoly Service, noted that this public debate is a clear indicator of open interaction and honest dialogue of the Antimonopoly body with representatives of all levels of government, entrepreneurs, the media and the public.

In his speech he drew attention to the fact that the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS of Russia) is an active participant of the reform of control and supervisory activities. He informed the participants of the public discussion on the transfer of the strategic planning document - the National development plan of competition (Decree was signed by the President of the RF on 21.12.2017) to the President of the Russian Federation prepared by the FAS Russia and agreed upon with the Government of the Russian Federation.

The main results of the work of the Karelian Department of FAS Russia for the first nine months of 2017, as well as significant antitrust investigations by regional competition authority and priority tasks for the near future were discussed.

The event was attended by over 50 people, including about twenty representatives of the entities supervised by antimonopoly authority, the officials of state and municipal authorities, commercial organizations and entrepreneurs.
